There are many types of massage parlours in Bangkok that offer ranging from a decent massage to a so-so massage that leads to happy endings. The Thais came up with two classifications of massage, soft vs hard massage.
Typically for soft massages, the massage is decent to good. The happy ending ranges from a handjob to body to body massage. As for hard massages, the massage is generally mediocre to average, with the main focus on the happy ending, sex. Whatever that you want to do to a man, can be done to the man.
Proper, Regular, Clean Massage Shops
Clean massage shops that do not offer happy endings are aplenty in Bangkok.
These shops often have their available therapists seated outside their shop, touting their massage service. For their Thai or oil body massage, the treatment will often be done in a large communal room. A curtain will be pulled to surround the massage bed you are lying down on for some privacy.
Having said so, there is ultimately still a chance for you to secure a happy ending if the therapist is willing and smart about it. But, do not expect it to the norm.
Exploring Soft Massages
Soft massage parlours have solely male therapists catering to male customers.
These massage shops will usually have a nicely done up lobby area to welcome customers. Treatment will be done in private small rooms, with an attached showering facility.
It is highly encouraged for you to make an appointment with the therapist of your choice before heading down to the shop. Walking-in is an option too, however, the therapists available will be highly limited and may not be your type.
Typically the will be a wide range of massage treatment options, with oil aromatherapy and body scrub being the most common. The price increases for more time or more premium essential oil / scrub used for the treatment.
Treatment durations are typically 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Over here, we highly recommend at least 90 minutes for each massage treatment. The time starts the moment you enter the room and should end the moment you step out of the room. This means, the pre and post treatment shower is inclusive in the treatment duration timing.
If you pick 60 minutes, it will be too rushed for the therapist to perform actual good massage on you while providing you with the happy ending. 120 minutes is usually reserved for therapists that perform exceptional good massages while providing for the happy ending you desire.
Once you entered the room, the therapist will offer you a towel and ask that you shower. During this timing, he will leave the room to prepare for the massage treatment. Once you have showered finish, take a seat or lie down in the massage bed. When the therapist returns, he will commence the massage.
Enjoy the massage and nearing the end of the massage, the therapist will ask you if you want happy ending or special service. The entry level happy ending will be a handjob. If you like something more, you can always request for body-to-body massage or any other services. The therapists are often instructed by their management to not quote a price first. You will have to offer a price and then the therapist will either accept the price or counter-offer. Negotiate if needed.
After everything is done, you will be asked to take a shower again. After finishing everything, remember to pass the tip in cash to your therapists before leaving the room. Your therapist will escort you to the front door of the massage parlour.

Exploring Hard Massages
There are two type of hard massage establishments with unique business model, the massage parlour-esque or fish tank style.
Massage Parlour-esque
Massage parlour-esque allows for walk-ins, but you are highly recommended to make reservations in advance. Grab the LINE account of the massage parlour and text their admin. After telling the admin your preference, the admin will send you pictures of boys that fit your criteria.
Just note that these photos may be dated and may not be reflective of the boy’s current condition. This can either be a good or bad thing. The boys may have gotten flabby, or they have gone to the gym to become more buff.
After selecting a boy, you will be asked to choose duration. Similar to soft massage, you can choose 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes. Typically, if you are keen on getting a pre-sex massage, 90 minutes will be the recommendation. If you are just interested in the sex itself without massage, 60 minutes session is sufficient.
Turn up for your appointment 5 to 10 minutes earlier. The admin will receive you and sit you in their reception area, while the boy prepares the room. Once the room is ready, the boy will bring you to the room and will ask you to shower.
Once you have finished showering, the massage will begin. If you are not a fan of massage, you can skip the massage to proceed straight to cuddling and foreplay. If want to enjoy a sensual massage, feel free to go ahead and have him tease you.
Your boy then will ask you if you want to top or bottom, tell him your preference again and then proceed to do what a man can do to another man.
After everything has concluded, take a shower and dress up. There is a chance that he may shower with you, together. After which, tip your boy and he will then escort you to the door.
Do note that the boys will have to stay within the time limit. If you need more time, request for shorter or no massage. If you skip the massage, the actual time spent may be lesser than the agreed upon, which is quite normal.

Fishtank
When you first enter the fishtank establishments, there will be rows and rows of boys (usually about 10 to 30+) waiting for you. They will stand up, greet you and flash their gigawatt smile at you. They will continue with winks, gestures and body language to lure you to pick them.
It is normal to feel overwhelmed by the sudden attention shown. If you feel like you cannot make a decision straightaway, let him know you want to get a drink and a drinks menu will be passed to you. Order something and slowly look through the boys. Take your time and let the papasan know your preference in your boys. He will help you select a few boys that suit your taste, or let you know which boy is not suitable for you.
The benefit of visiting a fishtank is that, you get to see the boys in real life before committing to someone. You get to see their energy level and eagerness to please. If you see someone with body language that is not ready to do something with you, please try to avoid picking them. There are some boys who are more reserved in nature, they will give a polite smile when you look at them, eager to please you should you select them.

Payment
For both concepts, there is two type of fees involved. The first fee will be paid towards the establishment directly. This fee includes the usage of the room and facilities in the establishment. It also covers their overheads and serves as a profit to them being middlemen.
The second fee is paid directly to the boy., The boys are usually freelancers. This is why there is a high minimum tip as compared to other massage places. The minimum tip stipulated by the establishment is their sole source of income working in both concepts. They do not get paid for turning up, only if they do manage to render services to customers.
The perks of them being freelancers is that, if you have indeed found someone that you enjoy, exchange LINE contact with them. You will then be able to make further arrangement with them. We will share how to make arrangements wisely in future blog entries.
Conclusion
By now, you should have realised I have omitted talking about the sexual orientation of the therapists. These male therapists may be straight, bisexual, or gay. The level of service rendered depends solely on the individual and not their sexual orientation.
